Unsuccessful Efforts Historical Assessment of Iranian AnimationThe first attempts to produce animation in Iran date back to the 1950s; however, animation has not yet become a mainstream or even a parallel trend in Iranian cinema. In fact, compared to other artistic movements in Iran, animation has not been able to attract its own audience, and foreign animations have always been the main focus of attention among animation enthusiasts in Iran. In this research, by examining the history of animation in Iran, we will assess the internal and external reasons for the failure of animation in Iran. In the investigation of the internal reasons for the failure of animation in Iran, the weakness of the technical components in the production of animation in Iran will be investigated in comparison with other countries, and in the investigation of the external reasons, the social position of animation in Iranian society will be analyzed. In this process, many things, such as the number of animations made in Iran, the mechanisms of government and private institutions supporting animation production and distribution, animation styles in Iran and their comparison with animation styles in other countries, the target audience, the genre and content diversity of animation in Iran, the existing technologies for animation production in Iran, and many other elements that are involved in the quality evaluation of animation in Iran, will be analyzed. This research aims to evaluate the weaknesses of the animation industry in Iran and will seek to identify the problems of animation production in Iran.
