Moḥammad Ali Keshavarz/Moḥammad ʿAlī Keshāvarz/محمد علی کشاورز
Moḥammad ʿAlī Keshāvarz (April 15, 1930 – June 14, 2020), born in Eṣfahān, was a prominent Iranian actor. His cinematic career began with Shab-e Qūzī (Night of the Hunchback, 1965) and Khisht va Āyīnah (Brick and Mirror, 1964), directed by Ebrāhīm Golestān. Keshāvarz played memorable supporting roles in Āqā-ye Halū (Mr. Gullible, 1970), Ragbār (Downpour, 1972), and Ṣādeq Kordeh (Ṣādeq the Kurd, 1972). His first collaboration with ʿAlī Ḥātamī was the TV series Hezārdastān (The Nightingales, 1988), followed by Mādar (Mother, 1990), which earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the Fajr International Film Festival. He gained further acclaim for his leading role in Zīr-e Derakhtān-e Zeytūn (Through the Olive Trees, 1994) by ʿAbbās Kīārostamī.
