Berfin Çiçek
Berfin Çiçek is a second-year PhD student in the Near and Middle Eastern Studies program at the University of Washington. She holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Koç University and an MA in Cultural Studies from Sabancı University, Istanbul. She previously worked as a project specialist at SU Gender (Sabancı University Gender and Women’s Studies Center of Excellence). Her writing and talks have appeared at the ACLA 2021 Annual Meeting, ECIS 10 (Tenth European Conference of Iranian Studies), the Liberal Arts Collective at Penn State, NYU’s creative writing journal, and in journals such as Monograf and Nesir, as well as in conference proceedings published by Amsterdam University Press. She is currently working on a comparative study of Turkish and Iranian literatures from the 1950s to the 1980s.
