Iran’s Son is Unaware of His Mother (1976) is Fereydoun Rahnama’s final film before his untimely death. In this article, I will rigorously analysing the narrative structure and the stylistic features of the film. My examination will elucidate Rahnama’s use of a film-essay and self-reflexive approach, providing insights into his perspectives and ideological stance regarding Iran’s history and culture.
