Combining past and present and personal occupation as a tv expert and producer with his wife studies on Mongol history and history of cinema, Kimiavi tries to establish a connection between the impacts of the Mongol invasion to Iran with the increasing role of television and cinema in modern Iranian life in The Mongols / Mogholha. By criticizing the dramatic spread of using new media (tv and cinema) in 1960-1970s Iran as a new cultural dilemma, Kimiavi applies the traditional narrative about Mongols as the symbol of destruction and terror and bring them to his own time to show how cinema and television are affecting Iranian’s attitudes.
