Farīmāh Farjāmī (1952–2023) was a renowned Iranian actress for outstanding performances in independent women’s dramas. She was highly regarded for her portrayals of complex, introspective women struggling with personal and psychological challenges, which earned her critical acclaim and numerous awards, including a Crystal Simorgh for her performance in “The Last Act” (1991). Farjāmī’s career peaked in the 1980s when she worked with notable directors such as Alī Hātamī and Mas‛ūd Kīmīyā’ī. Although she appeared in fewer roles in the later decades, her contribution to Iranian cinema remains enduring. She passed away at 71, leaving a lasting legacy from her iconic roles in the 1980s that enriched the history of Iranian cinema.
