Kamāl Tabrīzī (born September 28, 1959, Tehran, Iran) is a well-known Iranian film director. He attended Iran’s University of Art and studied cinema and television. Tabrizi made noteworthy contributions to the Iranian film industry, by excelling in a range of filmmaking fields, such as editing, production, set and costume design, cinematography, screenwriting, and direction. Notably, he worked as a cameraman and photographer during the Iran Hostage Crisis (1979-1980). His post-revolutionary films tracked important social and political issues, earning him recognition in Iranian cinema.
