Kīyūmars Pūrahmad (December 16, 1949 –– April 5, 2023), born in Najafabad, Isfahan, Iran, was an Iranian filmmaker and writer who gained notoriety in the years following the 1979 revolution, especially in the 1980s and 1990s. He is best known for directing the television series The Tales of Majid (Qissah-hā-yi Majid, 1990), which was based on Hūshang Murādī Kirmanī’s story. He has also won awards for film direction, including the Crystal Simorgh Award for Best Directing at the Fajr International Film Festival. His Novel, We Are All Partners in Crime (Hamah-yi mā sharīk-i jurm hastīm) published in 2021, marked his transition into writing. He made a significant contribution to Iranian culture through his works in film and literature.
