Born on September 1, 1936, in Rasht, Iran, Malakah Ranjbar was an Iranian actress and the daughter of ‛Ibād-allāh Ranjbar, a pioneer in theater. Guided by her father, she started her artistic journey at the age of six. Her career spanned television and radio, starting with live programs in the nascent days of Iranian television and later works in radio from 1976. She is renowned for roles in films such as “The Sinners” (2012), “The Innocent Convict” (1953), and “Baani Chaw” (1996). Her unforgettable performance in the comedy series “Under the City Sky” (2001) remains a highlight of her career. She passed away on February 27, 2020, in Tehran.
