Mohammad Ali Fardin/Moḥammad ʿAlī Fardīn/محمدعلی فردین

Moḥammad ʿAlī Fardīn (February 4, 1931 – April 6, 2000), born in Tehran, was an Iranian actor, director, and producer. Fardīn won Best Actor at the Sepās Film Festival in 1969 and received a Certificate of Appreciation for Solṭān-e Qalb-hā (King of the Hearts, 1968). After the 1979 Revolution, he starred in Barzakhī-hā (The Imperilled, 1983), which was initially released but later banned, marking his final appearance in Iranian cinema. His filmography includes Behesht Dūr Nīst (Heaven Is Not Far Away, 1969), Ghazal (1976), Ganj-e Qārūn (Croesus’ Treasure, 1965), and the Indo-Iranian Bollywood production Subah-o-Shām (1972).
