Mushegh Sarvarian(MūshiqSarvarīyān) was an Iranian-Armenian film director. He attended Saint-Louis School in Tehran where he started his career as a magazine editor. He also drew cartoons for newspapers and posters for the movies of the time. Sarvarian was employed concurrently in Tehran’s S‛adī Theater as an interior designer. Sarvarian gained experience as a screenwriter and filmmaker after working in a variety of fields. His films include Shabnishīnīdarjahannam(A Party in Hell;1956), a co-directing effort withSamuel Khachikian(SāmūʼilKhāchikiyān)and a famous comedy in the history of Iranian cinema, which was selected for the 8th Berlin Film Festival in 1958.
