Shuhrah Āghdāshlū was born on May 11th, 1952, in Tehran, as Pārī Vazīrī-Tabār. She adopted the last name “Āghdāshlū” after her marriage to Āydīn Āghdāshlū. She began her acting career in Iranian cinema and worked with famous directors such as ‛Abbās Kīyārustamī, ‛Alī Hātamī, and Muhammad Rizā Aslānī. However, she had to leave Iran during the 1979 revolution and moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Āghdāshlū has achieved numerous successes throughout her career, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “A House of Sand and Fog” (2003) and multiple critical association awards. She is a versatile actress with international recognition for her contributions to film and television. Her notable roles in Iranian cinema include “Chess of the Wind” (year) and “Sooteh Delan” (year). In addition, she has also excelled in American television with roles in series “24” and “The Expanse,” and won an Emmy for her performance in “House of Saddam” (year). With a successful career spanning both cinema and television, she is celebrated for her remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry.
