PersianCrime, Drama 98 min 1991

In Tehran, Rahman, a migrant, crosses paths with Fereydoun, a man involved in the illicit trade of video films. Fereydoun, who suffers from heart disease, exploits Rahman’s eagerness to find work and his simplicity, pulling him into the dangerous world of film smuggling. Rahman becomes ensnared in this web. Eventually, he becomes a police officer and is set free by his uncle, who pays a hefty fine. Reuniting with Fereydoun, they confront Rashid, the powerful leader of the smuggling operation, demanding compensation for Rahman’s time in prison. However, Rashid cunningly retracts the money, echoing the tactics of “The Godfather” film. In the end, Rahman returns to his hometown with Fereydoun’s sister, seeking solace and a fresh start.
