The story revolves around the son of a rank-and-file police officer who returns from America, where his family had arranged for him to marry his cousin. However, he did not pursue his studies in America and has struggled to find a job. His life takes a dramatic turn when his father, a low-ranking police officer, arrests the notorious hat thief, who also happens to be the young man’s boss. With the arrest of the hat thief, the young man feels that he has no future.

In an attempt to collect enough money to return to America, the young man finds himself at a dead end. His father intervenes and puts him to work in a jewelry store. Meanwhile, the adopted daughter of the jewelry store owner is determined to fulfill her dream of going to America. She tries to secure her inheritance from her father, but her efforts are in vain.

To achieve their respective dreams, the daughter and the young man decide to enter into a marriage of convenience, hoping to manipulate the situation in their favor. However, their plan does not go as expected. They must resort to conspiring with a group of professional thieves to rob the jewelry store.

Unbeknownst to them, the young man’s rank-and-file police officer father overhears their conversation via a wireless device. As they attempt to flee after the heist, the robbers are captured, and in the ensuing chaos, the father accidentally shoots and kills his own son, who is trying to escape. The story is a tragedy, highlighting the consequences of their actions.
