Ali (Reza Beyk Imanverdi) is the manager of his uncle’s (Ahmad Ghadakchian) factory and oversees its operations. His cousin, Shahla (Parastu), who is frivolous, is interested in him, while his other cousin, Iraj (Garsha Raoufi), who is constantly inebriated, is dependent on him. One night, in a state of intoxication, Iraj accidentally runs over an elderly man with his car. When Ali and his uncle visit the injured man, they meet his daughter, Maryam (Sepideh), and subsequently hire her as a secretary at the factory. Ali and Maryam develop feelings for each other, but Shahla, wanting to separate them, introduces Iraj to Maryam. Iraj overcomes his addiction, and Ali, wishing for their happiness, pretends to be indifferent towards Maryam. Iraj and Maryam get married; however, Iraj, suspicious of his wife’s relationship with Ali, becomes abusive towards her. In a confrontation where he intends to harm Ali, Iraj is unexpectedly killed by a gunshot. Ali, initially suspected, is exonerated with Shahla’s testimony and starts a new life with Maryam.
