Just or Unjust | حق و ناحق

Heydar (Bahman Mofid) meets a woman named Marjan (Mastane Jazayeri) at a mausoleum, who years earlier had become acquainted with a naive girl and was seduced through their interactions. To preserve her family’s honor, she had sent a letter to her parents pretending to have committed suicide. Heydar gives Marjan his address and asks her to seek his help whenever she needs it. Heydar returns to his hometown, and his brother Ahmad (Manoochehr Vossoogh) meets Maryam (Mastane Jazayeri), Marjan’s twin sister, and plans to marry her. Heydar mistakes Maryam for Marjan and tries to prevent his brother from marrying her. When Heydar narrates Marjan’s story to Ahmad, one of Jalal’s (Jalal Mousavi) men overhears and informs the locals. Despite Heydar’s objections, Ahmad marries Maryam, but no one attends their wedding ceremony. Jalal and his men confront Heydar and Ahmad, wanting them to leave the neighborhood. Meanwhile, Marjan arrives and clarifies the situation due to her resemblance to Maryam.
