The Immigrants | مهاجر

PersianDrama 90 min 1991

In the years between 1320 and 1330, a significant number of immigrants migrated to the region to work for the South Oil Company. Among them, “Talaat” and “Karamat” set off on their journey to the south with the hope of finding a better life. However, their plans take an unexpected turn when Talaat falls ill, leaving Karamat with a difficult decision to make.

In the face of adversity, Karamat is compelled to establish a coffeehouse on the outskirts of the city. They soon discover that they are not free from the watchful eyes of the health department officials and local bandits, who make their lives challenging.

Tragedy strikes as Talaat passes away, leaving Karamat to navigate life’s challenges alone. However, their story takes another turn when a young immigrant girl named Manzar becomes a resident of the coffeehouse and joins them in their journey.

Amidst these trials, Talaat becomes pregnant, and Karamat is unwavering in her determination to remain, despite the concerns of their friend Musa. Now, they must confront not only health officials but also the native bandits who threaten their existence. This film explores the struggles and resilience of these characters in a challenging and ever-changing environment.
