چریکه تارا

Ballad of Tara | چریکه تارا

PersianDrama, Fantasy 98 min May 1979

A widow named Tara (Susan Taslimi) returns to her village with her two young children. On the way, she found that her grandfather has passed away. While traveling through a forest road, she encounters a mysterious man (Manouchehr Farid), dressed in historical attire, who quickly passes by. Tara finds a sword among her grandfather’s inheritance but is unsure of what to do with it and throws it into the river. In a moment of low tide, Tara sees the historical figure, a commander from an extinct tribe of warriors, who possesses nothing but her grandfather’s sword. The historical figure vanishes, and Tara finds the sword again during high tide and returns it to the historical man. However, he, having fallen in love with Tara, cannot return to his world. Meanwhile, Tara’s sister-in-law wants her to marry her brother Ashoob (Siamak Atlasi), an offer that Tara declines. Ashoob kidnaps Tara’s children, and she accuses him of killing her brother to get to her. Tara seeks the historical man and accuses him of lying about all his stories, claiming there is no tribe or clan involved. At this moment, a vast army emerges from the sea, bringing death to the witness, and the historical man takes refuge in the heart of the forest. Tara promises to join him. The historical man rides his wounded horse into the sea, and Tara attacks the waves with the sword to reclaim him, but the sea pushes her back.
