Amir Barati

Amir Barati is a faculty member in the English department at Texas Tech University. He received his PhD in English and Humanities from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Amir specializes in contemporary American fiction, transatlantic literature, diasporic culture, and Iranian cinema. His research focuses on the manifestations of historical traumas in diasporic literature and culture with an emphasis on literary neuropsychoanalysis, body politics, and postcolonial theory. His research articles have appeared in many scholarly publications including Cambridge Scholars (UK), Mise-en-scène: The Journal of Film & Visual Narration (KPU), International Journal of Applied Linguistics and English Literature, Tête-à-Tête (LSU), Journal of Interdisciplinary Research (UMKC), and more.
