Daniele Rugo
Daniele Rugo is Professor of Film at Brunel, University of London and an award winning filmmaker. He is the author of 2 feature documentaries on the Lebanese Civil War – About a War (2019) and The Soil and The Sea (2023) – and his filmmaking practice engages the landscape to mobilise histories of violence. He has published on documentary film, film-philosophy and environmental filmmaking. He is the author of 3 books and his articles have appeared in leading journals including Screen, Cultural Politics, Third Text and Film-philosophy. His forthcoming monograph (co-authored with Nikolaj Lubecker) is called Images of Unrest and focuses on documentary cinema and political violence. He has been a visiting professor at Sciences Po, the University of Bologna and a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics.
