Hamid Taheri
Hamid Taheri is a doctoral candidate in media studies at RMIT University in Melbourne, where he investigates the effects of modesty censorship rules on Iranian films. He has written extensively in Iranian and foreign publications and peer-reviewed journals such as Feminist Media Studies, the Quarterly Review of Film and Video and the Middle East Journal of Culture and Communication. He is also a translator, and Rick Altman’s Film/Genre, translated into Farsi, is the most renowned of his translations. Taheri is also a screenwriter and filmmaker whose name appears on several TV series, feature and short films.
