Milad Mohebi

Milad Mohebi is an urban study researcher with a background in urban planning and a Master’s degree in Urban Design. His work focuses on the intersections of spatial political economy, urban inequality, and public space, with particular emphasis on the lived experiences of the urban poor, their visibility in public discourse, and the socio-spatial transformations reshaping Iranian cities. He has taught courses in urban sociology, participatory planning, and urban genealogy, and has contributed to a range of interdisciplinary research projects. His research also explores the representation of marginalized communities in media and cinema, linking visual culture to broader dynamics of urban exclusion and resistance. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and featured in media outlets, including: “Street Hawker as Stranger” (2022), “Urban Poor and the Poverty of Experience in Iranian Cinema: An Investigation of the Urban Poor Representation in Iranian Cinema” (2023), and The Museum of Poor Neighborhoods and Their Spectators (2023, book), published in Iran.
