Minoo Aboozarjomehri

Minoo Aboozarjomehri is a distinguished editor, translator, and scholar specializing in literature, cinema, and the dramatic arts. She holds a Master’s degree in Dramatic Literature and a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and has significantly influenced Iran’s publishing landscape, shaping critical discourse in literature and cinema.

Since 2021, Aboozarjomehri has held the positions of chief editor and series editor at Tarh-e No and Tarh-e Naghd and has been a senior editor at Alborz Publishing since 2018. Over the past decade, she has collaborated with prominent Iranian publishers and contributed to publishing over 300 books in editorial and translation capacities.

Her notable translation projects include significant works such as The Future(s) of Film: Three Interviews with Jean-Luc Godard, The Language of Drama by Keith Sanger—adopted as a university textbook—and The History of Cinema: A Very Short Introduction. Aboozarjomehri has also translated acclaimed plays by Jordi Mand, including Brontë: The World Without, Caught, and  Between the Sheets. Her translations of  Brontë: The World Without and Caught have been nominated for Iran’s Book of the Year Award in 2024, while her translation of Between the Sheets has been recognized as one of the best translated plays in Iran in 2021, earning the potential for three consecutive performances. Additionally, her translation of Talk to Her (Philosopher on Film) explores the philosophical dimensions of Pedro Almodóvar’s film.

Beyond her editorial and translation endeavors, Aboozarjomehri has published scholarly articles on cinema, theatre, and literary adaptation in leading academic journals. She actively conducts workshops on editing and translation, continuing to influence and enrich contemporary Iranian literary and cinematic studies.
