Sam Izadi

Sam Izadi is a PhD candidate in Theater Studies at the University of Tehran, College of Fine Arts. His research focuses on national cinema, national theater, local genres, popular culture, traditional performing arts, and visual storytelling. He has published and presented over twenty scholarly articles exploring how Iranian cinema and theater engage with themes of national identity, tradition, and cultural memory. As a screenwriter, playwright, and director, he has created both stage and screen works that reflect his deep interest in local storytelling forms, performative heritage, and visual storytelling. His broader academic interests include the relationship between national identity and the arts, genre theory, modern Iranian literature, and the intersection of culture and politics.
