Mahin Sohrabi Nasirabadi

Mahin Sohrabi Nasirabadi is a scholar of Iranian art and heritage, formerly a professor and head of the Department of Handicrafts at Alzahra University, Tehran. With a PhD in Art Research and degrees in conservation and restoration of historical objects, her work bridges traditional and indigenous arts with modern global contexts, especially through the lens of creative industries. Over three decades, she has taught across undergraduate to doctoral levels and supervised numerous theses in art research, cultural studies, Islamic art, and interdisciplinary fields grounded in strong theoretical foundations.
An active researcher and widely published author, Dr. Sohrabi has presented at major conferences across Iran, Europe, and Asia, and has served on scientific committees and editorial boards. Her contributions have earned her multiple honors, including recognition as a distinguished researcher and educator. She has also held advisory and managerial roles in cultural organizations and the public sector. Now based in Toronto, she continues her academic and cultural work, contributing to cross-cultural dialogue within Iranian and international art communities.
