In Iranian cinema, films are often imbued with ideological underpinnings that significantly influence the portrayal of social classes. This portrayal is shaped by the underlying economic interests and cultural values that are intricately woven into class distinctions. As such, the depiction of social classes is directly related to the distribution of wealth and the prevailing characteristics of popular culture. This article seeks to elucidate the impact of ideology on the representation of social classes in Iranian cinema. Through the analysis of selected films, this study will reveal at least three distinct ideological orientations within Iranian cinema: anti-bourgeois, sympathetic, and interaction-confrontation.
