Mohammad-Amir Jalali
Mohammad-Amir Jalali is an Iranian writer, director, film critic, and cinema researcher. He holds a Master of Arts in Cinema Studies from Sepehr Art University, where his thesis focused on the depiction of love in Iranian romantic films after the 1979 revolution. He also completed a comprehensive filmmaking course at Hilaj Film School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology.
Mohammad-Amir currently works in the media industry as the Senior Editor of the Cinema Department at ZOOMG, one of Iran’s leading entertainment platforms, and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Filmzi, where he leads editorial strategy and cinematic content development.
As a filmmaker, he has written and directed two short films: Atelier (2016) and The First Date (2023). His latest film was officially selected for the Edo State Film Festival and the Youality Film Festival in 2023.
He has contributed as a film critic to several notable Iranian cinema publications, including Cinema Haghighat, Filmpan, EEstar, Halgheh, and Filmkav, as well as to various cinematheques. He was honored to serve as a member of the critics’ jury at the 20th Nahal Short Film Festival.
